Artistree Gallery: MUD Season 2024

Every year, Vermont residents experience five intense seasons. The irony of the so-called "Green Mountain State" is that summer is, by far, the shortest. After a few weeks of green, impressive Fall colors emerge and slowly give way to a cold, snowy winter. As winter turns toward Spring, the frozen ground starts to warm and the melting snow turns the States' ubiquitous dirt roads into messy rivers of soft mud.

Artistree "mud Season" Exhibition 2024SOUTH POMFRET, VERMONT: Every year, Vermont residents experience five intense seasons.

Though many Vermonters choose to complain about mud season, the Artistree Gallery organizes an annual celebration by inviting guest artists to exhibit pieces inspired by it.  Painter Rae Newell tells me that Vermont summer is all to green and that mud season offers attentive Vermonters subtle color combinations waiting to be enjoyed.

Welcome to beautiful mud season!
