Talon Smith: 24 Preludes for Piano

The cutting edge of classical music

Classical composer Talon Smith joins Vienna Live to present his new album Debut: 24 Preludes.

NEW YORK: The 24 preludes from J.S. Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier are “unavoidable” works in the piano repertoire – no one can study the piano without encountering them.

But their influence on classical music isn’t limited to musicians studying and performing them: J.S. Bach’s preludes inspired Chopin to write his famous “Raindrop” prelude and Debussy to radically shift our conception of Western music through his own 24 preludes.

It’s from this perspective that we will discover Talon Smith’s new recording of his 24 Preludes for Piano, now available on Navona Records.

Let’s go to the cutting edge of classical music!
