The result is a refreshing and compelling interpretation that bridges two separate centuries with elegance and virtuosity. Greco’s wide-ranging musical background — including his experience with clarinet and flute, both rooted in Baroque tradition — positions him as the ideal candidate to reimagine this repertoire, his deep understanding of these instruments allowing him to highlight the expressive potential of the saxophone in a historically informed yet innovative way. Partnering with pianist Po Sim Head, whose sensitive playing captures both the stylistic nuance and vitality of the period, the duo delivers performances that are both thoughtful and exhilarating. Through Greco’s artistry, this seldom-explored combination shines as a bold and beautiful reimagining of Baroque sound — a splendidly-executed testament to the power of creative vision and musical dialogue.
