Sexologists cite attachment and arousal as the two sex goals of most people, so why is infidelity so commonplace

AMSTERDAM: in the first episode of Adult Sex, world-renown sexologist Dr. Rik van Lunsen told us that people generally have two sex goals: attachment and arousal.

So, if attachment is half the reason we desire sex, why is infidelity so commonplace?

Singer/songwriter Tracey Yarad knows this phenomenon much too well: she and her husband were inseparable from each other… until a teenage girl moved in with them and Tracey found herself alone in bed.

Her new musical memoire, All These Pretty Things, tells us this jaw-dropping story of infidelity and invites us to reconsider our feelings about attachment and sex.

Together with Amsterdam’s relationship therapist Dick van Bruijn, Tracey joins us for an urgent conversation that all too often starts and ends in silence.
