NEW YORK CITY: When the COVID-19 pandemic brought New York’s bustling walkways to a standstill, saxophonist Andrew Hadro saw the opportunity of a lifetime.

The historic Cleft Ridge Span in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park held a bounty of sonic possibilities, and the rare stillness provided the perfect environment for recording music. ArchMusic documents Hadro’s performance under the bridge, where the saxophone’s iconic timbre combines with one-of-a-kind acoustics and reverberations to create a sound that’s entirely unique.

Let’s discover the sound of a silent New York City!
