The Mendon 350th Composer’s Competition is pleased to accept submissions until January 15th, 2017.
The Mendon 350th Anniversary Committee, organized to celebrate the 350th Anniversary of Mendon, Massachusetts, aims to secure an artistic legacy for New England while spurring composers to take the children’s choir genre on as a serious compositional challenge. The compositions called for would employ children’s voices and piano accompaniment and last between two and five minutes. Anyone may apply, and the composer of the work selected by the jury will be awarded $1000 on March 25, 2017, the day of the work’s premiere.
All interested parties are encouraged to submit.
